Position Overview

The Wire Operations Specialist plays a crucial role in the centralized processing of wire transfers. This position is responsible for operational support within the Wire Department, assisting the Wire Operations Manager as needed. Key responsibilities include creating, verifying, and processing wire transfers, monitoring their status, and ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations regarding suspicious or fraudulent activities. The specialist will also handle routine tasks, review reports, prepare correspondence, and participate in special projects.


Essential Job Functions

  • Execute daily wire transfer functions, including USD wire input and processing wire queues.
  • Manage wire confirmations for branches and departments via email.
  • Provide exceptional support to internal departments and external clients regarding wire processing inquiries.
  • Conduct research and maintenance on wire transactions.
  • Balance and reconcile the daily wire log.
  • Open and close the Wire System daily, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Maintain organized filing and archiving of wire transfer documentation.
  • Adhere to established policies and procedures consistently.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Wire Operations Manager.

Requirements

  • One year of minimum banking experience or comparable
  • Ability to participate on disaster recovery team as needed
  • The ability to process work accurately and timely to meet deadlines
  • Strong organizational skills, ability to multi-task and be a team player
  • Intermediate PC skills including Word, Excel, and Microsoft Outlook, data entry and 10 Key by touch, minimum typing speed 35-40 wpm (typing certificate required)
  • The ability to communicate effectively through verbal and written communication
  • Exceptional customer service skills


Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is in regular communication, is required to use various tools or objects, and have the mobility to move about the office. The employee occasionally lifts and/or moves objects up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus.


Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is full-time position and hours of work and days are Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Overtime may be necessary as job duties demand.
