Position Summary: Receives, stores, and inspect wire for damage and all tags are on the wire coming in. Make sure the wire is rotated and old wire is put in front and new wire is stored in the back of the row.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Receive loads of wire coming in.
  • Inspect all wire received for damage and inspect truck floor after unloading for any wire tags and ensure all wire tags are on carriers
  • Insure all identifying wire tag numbers are accounted for. If any are missing assign correct tag number and weight to the carrier by process of elimination.
  • Located all wire in wire storage area by size and heat number. Keeping all heat numbers together.
  • Locate all new loads in the back of correct row; moving all of the older wire forward to be used first.
  • Marks materials with identifying information.
  • Turn in paper work for any loads that where received that day to proper personal.
  • Keep wire storage area clean and organized.
  • Maintains inventory records and does regular audits of inventory in wire storage.
  • Any defective wire needs segregated and if it needs returned make sure it is on the next truck back to supplier.
  • Make sure when trucks are returning to supplier all wire carriers are put on the truck to return.

  • Must be able to be forklift certified

  • Familiarity with bill of materials (BOM)
  • Must be able to work in a fast paced environment

Physical Demands/Work Environment:

  • Must be able to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach overhead, or crawl
  • Must be able to lift 25lbs, at times may be asked to lift more
  • Environment is non-climate controlled
  • Production floor is typically loud
