    Description

Responsible for moving heavy materials and equipment around jobsites using rigging gear.

Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned)

  • Select cables, ropes, pullup, winches, blocks, and sheaves according to weight and size of load to be moved.
  • Attaches pullup and blocks to fixed overhead structures, such as beams, ceiling, and gin pole boom with bolts and clamps.
  • Attaches load with grappling devices, such as loops, wire rope, and chains to crane hook.
  • Gives direction to operator engaged in hoisting and moving loads to ensure safety of workers and material handled.
  • Sets up, braces, and rigs hoisting equipment, using hand tools and power wrenches.

Requirements:

  • NCCER Certifications
  • Operate heavy equipment machinery, and dismantle the rigging after the job.
  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree.
  • Knowledge of rigging equipment, excellent space awareness, and good communication skills.
  • Ability to work at heights and in noisy environments.
