If this aligns with your values and you want to join a leader in the banking industry, we are hiring for a Loan Processor I that will review loan documents for correspondent loans prior to onboarding data into the loan core system and ensure accuracy of documents received to bind and protect the bank's interests.
MAJOR DUTIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES
• Follows policies and procedures related to loan documentation, and determines that appropriate approvals have been received prior to processing packages and documentation received.
• Understands complex loan presentations as it relates to documentation, regulations, and collateral perfection.
• Processes loan payments and advance requests (including participated credits), by making the necessary system entries.
• Verifies the principal and interest balance on participations when processing both payments and advances.
• Generates posting sheets, wire forms, wire instructions, and funding advice, ensuring that all transactions are balanced. Posts transactions to the core system or general ledger.
• Reviews authorization for disbursements prior to wiring funds up to authorized limits and crediting demand deposit accounts.
• Uses appropriate coding and inputs pertinent data from the loan package into the core system to ensure proper file maintenance and billing.
• Performs quality checks of daily work processed.
• Reviews and resolves daily reports generated from the bank's data system.
• Researches account variances on participations by analyzing loan histories.
• Inputs pertinent follow-up information into the tickler tracking system, currently DocuCommand from the loan package using appropriate codes.
• Responds to all internal and external customer service calls professionally and in a timely manner.
• Serves as the back-up for processing audit confirmations, as needed.
• Serves as a back-up to the Loan Processor II position.
• Complies with all banking laws and regulations, and maintains the confidentiality of bank and customer information.
REQUIREMENTS/DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Required
• High School diploma or equivalent
• 3 - 5 years' commercial loan operations experience in all phases of lending
• 3 - 5 years' loan accounting (GL to loan system and/or DDA balancing)
• 3 - 5 years' experience with loan system onboarding and quality check
• 3 - 5 years' processing payments, advances, rate changes, etc. to loan system
• 3- 5 years' researching and resolving account discrepancies
• 3 - 5 years' experience with wire transfer remittance and working with participation loans
• Working knowledge of business entity documentation (corporate, partnership, joint venture, etc. structure)
• Working knowledge of applicable banking regulations
• Ability to review and comprehend credit structure, documentation, and collateral of complex loans including, but not limited to, participations, real estate secured loans, construction, lines of credit, asset-based loans, leases, warehouse lines, and agriculture loans.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, and across all levels
• Must be highly self-motivated, accountable, and able to multi-task
• Must be able to handle a fast-paced environment, and navigate changing priorities
• Individual should possess good interpersonal skills and the ability to work within a team environment
• Software: Microsoft Office (proficiency in Word and Excel), Adobe Standard
Preferred
• 5-7 years back-office lending experience, including all phases of lending, with emphasis on participation processing
• 1-3 years' experience with imaging and maintenance of electronic loans, and customer documentation
