Job description

Company Description Wired Technologies is an ISO 9001:2015 and IPC-certified, full-service engineering and manufacturing supplier specializing in high-end PCB fabrication and assembly, wire harnesses, and electrical enclosure assemblies. With over 50 years of combined experience, the company builds top-quality black boxes and high-level assemblies for industries such as industrial, heavy construction equipment, automotive, aerospace, marine, motorsports, medical, and military. From concept and design through prototype validation, product launch, and full production, Wired Technologies delivers cost-effective solutions with rapid customer service, outstanding quality, and on-time delivery. The company operates as a single-source partner for customers seeking reliable, high-performance electrical and electronic assemblies. Headquarters and manufacturing are located in Livonia, Michigan.

Role Description The Wire Harness Technician is a full-time, on-site role based in Livonia, MI, responsible for assembling, routing, and testing wire harnesses and cable assemblies according to engineering drawings, work instructions, and industry standards. Day-to-day tasks include cutting, crimping, stripping, and labeling wires; installing connectors, terminals, and protective coverings; and organizing cables into harnesses using tools, fixtures, and jigs. The technician inspects completed assemblies for quality, continuity, and adherence to specifications, documents work performed, and may assist in troubleshooting and rework when issues are identified. The role involves maintaining a clean and safe work area, following ISO/IPC and company procedures, and collaborating with engineers, supervisors, and team members to meet production schedules and quality targets.

Qualifications

  • Ability to work with cables and cable assemblies, including reading cable schedules and following harness layouts.
  • Experience with structured cabling and organized routing practices in industrial or manufacturing environments.
  • Basic understanding of electricity, including safe handling of electrical components and awareness of electrical safety standards.
  • Proficiency with hand tools used in wire harness assembly (crimpers, cutters, strippers, torque tools, and measuring devices).
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and work instructions.
  • Strong attention to detail, quality-focused mindset, and commitment to following ISO/IPC procedures.
  • Comfort working in a production environment, meeting deadlines, and collaborating with a diverse team.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; prior experience in wire harness, electrical assembly, or related manufacturing is preferred.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods, perform repetitive manual tasks, and safely lift moderate weights as required by the job.
