Job description

Machinist Position

We are looking for someone who does precision tolerance, programming, stock cutting, set up, making, measuring, etc MUST HAVE PROGRAMMING EXPERIENCE

Candidate will be required to fabricate/machine parts from drawings, sketches, 3D CAD models, and verbal instructions, using common Machine Shop equipment.

Equipment includes; 3 axis Trak DPM Bed mills, Hardinge manual and CNC (centroid) lathes. Manual and CNC Surface grinders, along with operation and possible training on CNC machining centers as needed.

*Ideal candidate would have experiences with Wire and Sinker EDM and Machining centers.

Materials include; Plastics, Aluminum, Stainless Steel, and other Ferrous and non-Ferrous alloys, holding tolerances of +/-0.0005 with tighter tolerances on occasion.

Candidate must be a motivated self-starter requiring minimal supervision and may be required to direct and train machinists with less experience.

Adherence to all shop safety rules, as well as maintaining a neat and clean work area is required. Qualifications:

A minimum of five years of applicable experience as a machinist, or graduation from a two-year day technical school machinist course, or four-year vocational technical high school is required. Candidate should have a strong understanding of basic machine shop practices including ability to read blueprints and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerances (GD&T).
