Job description

CNC Machinist / Precision Tooling Technician

$26–$32 per hour | Paid Training Provided | First Shift

LEUCO Tool Corporation is seeking a skilled CNC Machinist or Precision Manufacturing Technician to join our growing team in Villa Rica, Georgia. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced machinist who enjoys precision work, problem-solving, and working with advanced manufacturing technology.

At LEUCO, we manufacture, sharpen, and recondition high-precision carbide and diamond cutting tools used by leading woodworking and industrial manufacturers throughout North America. We provide comprehensive training on our specialized equipment, including Wire EDM, QHD, and ZOLLER systems. Previous experience with these specific machines is not required.

In this hands-on role, you'll work with advanced machining and inspection equipment to restore tooling to exact specifications. Every tool you complete goes directly back into a customer's production environment, making quality, accuracy, and attention to detail critical to success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate CNC, Wire EDM, and precision grinding equipment following established procedures
  • Inspect, evaluate, and process carbide and diamond tooling for reconditioning
  • Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and tooling specifications
  • Perform precision measurements using calipers, micrometers, comparators, and other inspection equipment
  • Monitor machine performance and make adjustments to maintain quality standards
  • Maintain accurate production and inspection records
  • Perform routine machine maintenance and basic troubleshooting
  • Work closely with engineering and production teams to improve processes and efficiency
  • Support cross-training opportunities in related machining and manufacturing areas
  • Follow all safety, quality, and lean manufacturing standards
  • Be available for occasional overtime as production demands require

Required Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of CNC machining, manufacturing, tool and die, grinding, or related precision manufacturing experience
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
  • Experience working to tight tolerances and quality standards
  • Proficiency with precision measuring instruments
  • Basic machining mathematics skills
  • Stable work history and demonstrated reliability
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with CNC programming or EDM machining
  • Tool and die, cutter grinding, erosion, aerospace, medical device, or precision manufacturing experience
  • Experience working with carbide, hardened materials, or precision tooling
  • Continuous improvement or lean manufacturing experience
  • Familiarity with CAD/CAM software
