Job Summary

Our client is seeking a Cable and Harness Technician to support the manufacturing and assembly of cable and wire harness products in a production environment. This position is responsible for assembling, wiring, and inspecting cable harnesses while following engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, work instructions, and quality standards. The ideal candidate has extensive experience with electrical assembly, cable and harness manufacturing, crimping, and electrostatic discharge (ESD) procedures in a manufacturing environment.

Job Responsibilities

  • Manufacture and assemble cable and wire harness products according to engineering specifications and work instructions.
  • Read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, wire lists, blueprints, and assembly documentation.
  • Perform electrical assembly, wiring, crimping, and cable termination activities.
  • Inspect completed assemblies to ensure compliance with quality standards and workmanship requirements.
  • Follow established manufacturing procedures, operation sheets, ISO standards, and production schedules.
  • Maintain accurate production documentation and complete required manufacturing records.
  • Communicate production status, technical issues, and quality concerns to supervisors and team leads.
  • Follow Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) handling procedures and manufacturing best practices.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical assembly and wiring.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience manufacturing cable and wire harness assemblies.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, wire lists, blueprints, and assembly drawings.
  • Experience with cable harness manufacturing, wiring, crimping, and electrical assembly techniques.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude.
  • Experience following Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) procedures.
  • Ability to successfully obtain IPC/WHMA-A-620 (Cable and Wire Harness Assembly) and NASA J-STD certifications.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Technical trade school education is preferred.
  • Current IPC/WHMA-A-620, NASA J-STD, or other electronics assembly certifications are preferred.
  • Experience using Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) for workflow, documentation, and production tracking is preferred.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen.

Education

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Technical trade school education preferred.

Work Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical assembly and wiring required.
  • Experience manufacturing cable and wire harness assemblies required.
  • Experience in electronics manufacturing or production environments preferred.
