Summary: The Product Manager is responsible for executing a business strategy for designated product lines to optimize profit and meet financial & growth objectives.

Essential Functions
  • Create and execute business plan and strategy for designated product lines.
  • Identify and manage strategic partnerships with vendors and manufacturers.
  • Responsible for sales and gross margin enhancement for designated general ledger (GL) codes.
  • Conduct in-depth market research on products, pricing, and market success to gain insight into customer preferences and interests.
  • Produce competitive analysis materials comparing product with its key competitors.
  • Collaborate with Marketing in deploying product strategy for new and emerging products within designated product lines.
  • Provide pre-sales support to customers including: review of customer project specifications and documents, preparing and presenting bills of materials, providing solutions based on customer needs.
  • Effectively communicate and collaborate with Customer Experience Specialists and Account Management to implement sales and product strategies and meet customer requests and needs.
  • Design, manage, and deliver technical training to internal and external customers in support of product line.
  • Utilize the customer relationship manager (CRM) tool to log and manage customer opportunities, tasks, customer interactions, and support responses from customers in assigned region.
  • Participate in designated sales planning meetings with Account Managers within assigned territory to understand new products and programs and determine needs of customers and Account Managers’ accounts.
Required Qualifications
  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in marketing, sales, business administration, and 1-3 years of related field experience.
  • 3-5 years’ relevant experience working with electrical products in lieu of a degree.
  • Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license.
  • Ability to travel regularly through assigned territory. Some overnight travel is required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience leading a direct team.
  • Working experience within business systems (Solar highly preferred).
  • Consultative sales experience highly preferred.Business planning and forecasting experience highly preferred.
  • Previous working experience with vendors.
  • Previous experience working with customer relationship management (CRM) software.
