Job Title: Assembler

Job Description

This role focuses on building complete sensor products from pre-fabricated materials in a clean, calm, and spacious production environment. You will assemble small mechanical and electronic components by following detailed work instructions, use hand and power tools, and support high-quality, line-based production. This position offers consistent hours on a day shift schedule, with regular overtime opportunities for those who want to increase their earnings.

Responsibilities

• Perform full product builds of sensors from pre-fabricated materials, ensuring accuracy and consistency in each unit.
• Read and follow detailed work instructions on an iPad to assemble individual components and final products.
• Carry out mechanical assembly of product shells, boxes, and related housings using small parts and fasteners.
• Perform soldering and wire bonding tasks to connect electrical components according to schematics or instructions.
• Assemble and connect electrical and electronic components, including wiring, PCB-related tasks, and electrical assembly work as needed.
• Use small hand tools and power tools safely and effectively to complete assembly and production tasks.
• Package finished products according to quality and packaging standards, preparing them for shipment or further processing.
• Conduct basic quality inspection of assembled products, checking for defects, proper fit, and adherence to specifications.
• Use a computer to analyze test data and verify that products meet performance and quality criteria.
• Follow production safety standards at all times, including proper use of tools, equipment, and personal protective practices.
• Collaborate effectively with team members on a line-based production floor to maintain flow, meet production goals, and support continuous improvement.
• Maintain a strong sense of urgency while working, ensuring that production targets and deadlines are consistently met.
• Stand for extended periods throughout the shift, moving between workstations as needed to support production.
• Follow written work instructions in English and, where applicable, reference blueprints, schematics, or diagrams to complete tasks.
• Support general production operations as needed, including machine operation, SMT-related tasks, and other duties assigned by production leadership.

Essential Skills

• Previous production experience, with a demonstrated understanding of production flow, pace, and meeting output targets.
• Proficiency using hand tools for mechanical and assembly tasks.
• Strong sense of urgency and ability to work efficiently while maintaining quality.
• Mechanical aptitude and comfort working with mechanical assemblies and components.
• Ability to read and follow work instructions in English, including digital instructions on an iPad.
• Ability to stand for the entire shift as required by production needs.
• Comfort working up to approximately 10–15 hours of overtime per week when needed.
• Ability to collaborate effectively in a team-based, line production environment.
• Capability to adhere to production safety standards and safe tool usage.
• Basic computer skills to use systems for analyzing test data and following electronic work instructions.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with small parts assembly, especially in electronics or precision mechanical environments.
• Previous experience reading and following detailed work instructions in a production or assembly setting.
• Electronic assembly experience, including working with wiring, PCBs, and electrical components.
• Soldering experience, including through-hole or surface-mount soldering.
• Exposure to SMT (Surface Mount Technology) machine operation.
• Experience with mechanical assembly, electronic assembly, and electrical wiring.
• Familiarity with interpreting blueprints, schematics, or similar technical documentation.
• Experience with quality inspection processes, including visual checks and basic measurement or test tools.
• Experience in general production, machine operation, or related manufacturing roles.

Work Environment

The work environment is a line-based production facility that is very clean, calm, quiet, and spacious, providing a comfortable and organized setting for focused work. The role operates on a day shift schedule, Monday through Friday from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., with the possibility of an adjusted shift from 5:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. if needed, and occasional Saturday morning work from 6:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Overtime opportunities are common, averaging approximately 10–15 hours per week for those who choose to participate. Team members use iPads for work instructions and computers for analyzing test data, along with small hand tools, power tools, and equipment associated with mechanical and electronic assembly, including soldering and potential SMT-related operations. Some work areas are seated while others require standing, and overall the environment supports safe, efficient production with a strong emphasis on cleanliness, organization, and adherence to safety standards.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Beaverton, OR.

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
