Job description

Summary:
Under the supervision of the Quality Manager, and Quality supervisor the Quality Control Tech I will be responsible for overall quality control on our bottling lines and for the inspection of packaging materials. Ensure all packaging materials, wine types and quality control specifications are in accordance with the current production schedule and applicable industry and governmental requirements. Also, must be able to work independently, while ensuring all operational procedures and practices are met. Lastly, must be flexible in terms of working hours and occasional weekends if needed.
Reports to: Quality Control Manager
Classification: Full-time, Non-Exempt
Compensation: $22.00-$23.00/hr
Location: 100% on-site
Shift: Tuesday - Friday 3:00PM - 1:30AM
You Will:
  • Follows quality assurance plans by conducting hazard analyses; conducts quality checks on dry goods and packaging materials.
  • Conducts routine audits on bottling line; maintains and improves product quality by completing product, company, system, compliance, and surveillance audits.
  • Validates quality processes per product specifications and quality attributes, measures production levels and efficiencies
  • Prepares documentation, including reports, summaries, suggestions, etc.; and maintains records.
  • Collaborating with QC and other members of production team to develop improved manufacturing and training methods.
  • Analysis of finished goods, equipment, work orders.
  • May identify equipment issues (calibrations, etc.) and work with QC manager with further support/action.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Responsible for creating production work orders.
  • Inspects dry goods.
  • Enters data for glass consumptions

You Have:
  • Solid winery experience (e.g. QC/Production) experience highly preferred; familiarity with the principals and practices of all wine and packaging analysis.
  • Experience with ISO 9001 and Microsoft NAV greatly preferred,
  • Strong analytical skills and a strong attention to detail.
  • Commitment to creating and enforcing high standards.
  • Ability to multitask and shift priorities.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and research skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of the QC and production teams.
  • Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm.

Physical Demands & Working Conditions:
  • Must be able to reach, bend, stoop & occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to carry up to 50 pounds over moderate distances.
  • Must be able to sit or stand for long periods (8 hours of more per day)
