Principal DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following, but not limited to:

  • Administers, verifies, and submits accurate product orders by communicating with sales consultants and customers, and having sound knowledge of Marvin products, systems, and procedures.
  • Formulates product proposals by effectively and accurately sizing rough openings and blueprints, communicating with customers and utilizing automated systems.
  • Verifies contracts/proposals to ensure the correct product is ordered, built, and delivered to the customer.
  • Assists in calling and following-up on leads, processing customer requests, service and change orders.
  • Point of contact for the showroom customer walk-ins and call-ins; demonstrating product to customers and educating them on Marvin offerings.
  • Performs basic blueprint take-offs by accurately reading and interpreting client blueprints.
  • Uses internal Marvin software systems to enter orders, provide quotes and complete accurate information to Sales Consultants or Customers.
  • Promotes and facilitates continuous improvement activities in the department.
  • Maintains office/showroom appearance through organization and periodic light cleaning.  Meets company safety requirements.
  • Maintains and manages brochure and sales tool inventory
  • Supports special events scheduled in the showroom space
  • Other duties as assigned

Education & Experience

High school diploma/GED or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience. Two years of customer service or general business experience preferred. Construction and/or window and door product knowledge is desirable.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Ability to develop and maintain proficiency in Marvin products, processes, and proprietary systems.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, verbally and in writing, as required for customer service and job-related documentation.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and explain blueprints, product specifications, sales processes, and warranty information.
  • Strong customer service, organization, problem-solving, follow-through, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines, collaborate effectively, and resolve issues professionally.
  • Ability to perform basic business math, including percentages, measurements, dimensions, area, and monetary calculations.

Physical Demands

This position primarily involves seated office work and regular use of a computer and telephone. The employee may occasionally stand, walk, bend, reach, and lift or move up to 10 pounds.

Work Environment

Work is primarily performed in an office environment with a moderate noise level. Employees may occasionally enter warehouse areas and must comply with applicable safety requirements. Work hours may vary seasonally based on business needs.
