Job Summary

A-1 Windows and Doors is seeking an experienced residential window and door installer to join our team. This position averages approximately 30 hours per week and is ideal for a skilled craftsman who takes pride in quality workmanship, problem-solving, and customer satisfaction.

The ideal candidate will have experience in residential remodeling and finish carpentry and will receive training on A-1 Windows and Doors installation standards, best practices, and product-specific guidelines.

Pay: Starting at $30+/hour based on experience.

Skilled Laborer Duties and Responsibilities

· Install replacement and new construction windows

· Install entry, patio, and interior doors

· Perform finish carpentry work, including interior and exterior trim

· Identify and resolve installation challenges and structural discoveries in the field

· Maintain high standards for workmanship, jobsite cleanliness, and safety

· Communicate professionally with homeowners regarding project updates, unforeseen conditions, and changes in scope

· Complete projects within established schedules and committed timeframes

Skilled Laborer Requirements and Qualifications

· Minimum five years residential remodeling experience including construction experience and knowledge of window/door construction terms

· Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and problem-solve in the field

· Strong knowledge of residential construction methods and building practices

· Experience with finish carpentry and trim work

· Understanding of resedential Connecticut building code

· Ability to lift and carry up to 100 lbs

· Comfortable working on ladders and scaffolding

· Valid driver's license and reliable transportation

For 29 years, David Urbach remained an installer for his business, ensuring quality workmanship at a fair price. After 31 years, David Urbach decided to retire and spend more time with family and friends. As the new owner of A-1 Windows & Doors, Daniel DiMenna wishes David well in this next adventure.

As a Simsbury native and longtime carpenter, Daniel DiMenna began working with David in 2018 after a decade of home improvement carpentry in the area and began operating A-1 Windows & Doors as Owner & Operator in September 2019. Working alongside David, Daniel sought to understand David, so he could ensure A-1 Windows & Doors legacy lives on for decades to come. Daniel, to this day, remains one of A-1's installers & finish carpenters.
