TL;DRMost first jobs put you in a narrow lane. This one won't.
You'll work directly with the owner of a growing Huntsville company, learning how sales, marketing, operations, client experience, and business growth actually work together.
You'll start part-time while finishing school, with the goal of earning a full-time role within 6–9 months. As you demonstrate that you can own results, we'll give you more responsibility – not just more tasks.
If you're ambitious, highly coachable, good with people, and want to build a career faster than a traditional entry-level role allows, keep reading.
Come work close to the owner. Learn to sell. Learn to market. Learn how customers buy. Learn operations. Understand numbers. Get coached. Own real outcomes. Earn more responsibility quickly.
Help build the company.
The OpportunityWe are a growing residential and commercial window-treatment company looking for someone who wants to build a career – not simply fill a temporary part-time position.
This person will become the front door of the business. An integral team member, playing a key role in the success and growth of the business. You'll learn how a growing business actually works by helping run important parts of it. As you prove yourself, we'll move responsibility toward you.
Your first priority will be answering inbound calls, building trust with potential clients, and guiding them through our sales intake process. You will learn how to ask thoughtful questions, understand what the client actually needs, determine whether we are the right fit, and make sure the right next step happens. Both initial training and ongoing coaching will be provided.
You will also become a consistent support person for our clients and field team. You will help keep project information organized, answer routine questions, and make sure important details do not get lost between the initial call, consultation, order, installation, and follow-up.
As you master the core role, you will take on increasing responsibility for marketing execution, local outreach, referral activity, networking support, follow-up campaigns, and other projects that help grow the business.
This is an excellent opportunity for a graduating college senior or early-career candidate who wants direct exposure to sales, client service, operations, marketing, and small-business growth.
Critical AccountabilitiesOwn the Inbound Client ExperienceEvery inbound inquiry receives a timely, warm, and professional response.
You will take ownership of initial calls, gather the right information, document the conversation, and guide the prospect toward the appropriate next step without the owner remaining tied to the phone.
Winning means:
Most routine inbound calls are handled without owner involvement.
Missed calls receive prompt follow-up.
Inbound inquiries via email or other digital channels are followed up on quickly.
Prospects feel heard and know what happens next.
Client information is recorded clearly and accurately.
Routine questions are resolved without unnecessary escalation.
Field staff has all of the needed context to best serve the client.
Master the Blinds and Borders Intake ProcessYou will learn and consistently use our internal sales process to understand each prospect’s needs, expectations, timing, decision process, and fit.
The goal is not to book every possible appointment. The goal is to create better-qualified opportunities and a better experience for both the prospect and our team.
Support Clients and the Field TeamYou will become a reliable information and communication hub for active projects.
You will help answer routine questions, maintain accurate client records, and make sure our field team has the context they need to serve each client well. This includes developing deep industry and product knowledge.
Execute Marketing and Growth PrioritiesOnce the core client-intake work is under control, you will help turn marketing priorities into completed work.
Projects may include:
In field media opportunities - capturing photo and video content on installations
Supporting networking and community events
Following up with leads and past clients
Requesting reviews and testimonials
Organizing referral and partnership outreach
Maintaining the marketing calendar
Coordinating local promotions
Updating basic marketing materials
Supporting email and social campaigns
Tracking lead sources and campaign results
At first, you will execute clear priorities. As your judgment and experience grow, you will be expected to bring ideas and recommendations of your own.
Who Will Thrive in This RoleYou may be a strong fit if you:
Genuinely enjoy talking with people
Like helping others solve problems
Want to become excellent at the work you are given
Respond well to coaching and feedback
Take detailed notes and follow through on commitments
Are comfortable asking thoughtful sales questions
Can stay warm and calm when someone is frustrated or confused
Enjoy being part of a small, hands-on team
Are willing to step in when the business needs help
Want increasing responsibility as you prove yourself
Are ambitious and looking for a long-term career opportunity
Non-Negotiable TraitsService-DrivenYou genuinely enjoy serving people. Phone calls are not an interruption to your real work – they are a major part of the work.
Mastery MindsetYou want to become great at what you do. You practice, accept feedback, learn from mistakes, and keep improving.
Team-First Attitude“That’s not my job” is not part of your mindset. You are willing to step in or step up when the team needs you.
AmbitionYou want to succeed, grow, and earn greater responsibility. You are looking for an opportunity to build something, not coast through a temporary position.
Schedule and Career PathThe position will begin at approximately 15-25 hours per week.
The schedule will include fixed coverage windows based on when client calls most often arrive. Reliability during those hours is essential.
The goal is to develop the right person into a full-time employee within approximately six to nine months. The transition will depend on:
Your performance
Your ability to independently own the core role
Your graduation and availability
The company’s continued growth and financial capacity
The expected starting salary after conversion to full-time is approximately $45,000 - $53,000, with room to grow as you take on greater ownership and produce stronger results.
CompensationInitial part-time pay: $22 per hour
A performance-based bonus may be introduced after the initial training stage. Any bonus will be tied to balanced results such as call quality, qualified appointments, client support, accurate documentation, marketing execution, and business profitability.
