Job description

Establish work assignments for the maintenance staff, provide direction and guidance, and oversee completion of the tasks. Head of Maintenance is also responsible for performing routine repair work such as HVAC, electrical, plumbing, window repair, and carpentry.

The following qualifications are preferred for the ideal candidate:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum five years of experience in the maintenance field, preferably in a school setting
  • Driver's license
  • Able to give direction and manage a team
  • Required to properly handle chemical cleaners and supplies following school training and the manufacturer's directions.
  • May be required to work during school holidays, weekends, days, evenings, and overtime during inclement weather as directed by the Director of Operations

Salary/Benefits:

  • Work Year: 255 work days
  • Leave: 5 Vacation Days / 14 Sick Days / 2 Personal Days
  • FLSA Status: Non-exempt
  • Retirement: IMRF
