re:fab is looking for door and window installers to work as a subcontractor for a large commercial property in Boston MA area

In this position, you will work with refab's Project Manager to install required windows
Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with our estimating team on job quotes
  • Measure, mark, and arrange materials to established layout based on blueprints or instructions from re:fab supervisors
  • Cut and shape structures, forms, or other fixtures from glass
  • Use various hand and power tools to securely build assigned projects
  • Join materials with the most appropriate nail, screw, staple, or adhesive
  • Ensure the accuracy of work by checking completed projects with tools such as levels, surveying equipment, or framing squares; corrects problems as needed
  • Install windows
  • Work with our operations team to obtain permits for construction work to be performed, if needed
  • Work collaboratively with the re:fab estimating and operations team
  • Keep detailed reports of work completed and report daily logs to re:fab team
  • Complete jobs on time and budget
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures, and adhere to company standards and safety program
  • Adhere to local building and safety codes and guidelines

Qualifications:
  • Friendly and professional customer service skills
  • Effective communication & writing skills
  • Knowledge of commercial construction practices, procedures, techniques, tools and equipment, materials specifications, quality control, and safety
  • Ability to read and understand related construction documents (i.e., blueprints, plans, specs, shop drawings, etc.)
  • Must maintain valid Workman's Comp & General Liability insurance on self and crew

  • Professional general window glass install experience at least 2 years
  • Able to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to work in a face-paced & evolving environment
  • Applicant MUST have own tools and a reliable & insured truck or van to travel to and from job sites
