What you'll do As a Field Installer, you will function as part of a team of experienced individuals as they install and test Viasat's Remote Sensing Antenna Systems and Satellite Communications Terminals! In this role you will provide onsite installation and customer support and providing diagnoses, troubleshooting, service and repair of complex equipment and systems. The day-to-day * Oversee any necessary diagnses, troubleshooting service and repair of complex equipment and systems
* Install Viasat antenna ground stations both domestically and internationally
* Prepare technical reports summarizing your work and recommend solutions to technical problems
* Test antenna performance to specifications
* Actively maintain good customer relations and work as part of a diverse team both managing the work and participating in the day-to-day process of installation * Supervise contractors during site installs What you'll need * 2+ years of related experience and a Technical Associates Degree or equivalent work experience
* Experience in mechanical assembly of large-scale systems involving mechanical, electrical, and electronic equipment
* Ability to read and understand civil drawings
* Ability to read and follow mechanical fabrication drawings
* Working knowledge and experience in general construction safety processes, procedures, and requirements
* Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
* Experience with cross-functional teams, including contractors, multiple engineering disciplines, assembly personnel, and quality representatives
* Ability to work under pressure and to communicate effectively and directly with customers
* Experience resolving problems from design engineering to production assembly
* Mechanical aptitude that supports the supervision of rigging and direct cranes up to 200-ton capacity, to lift antenna assemblies that weigh as much as 20 tons
* Demonstrated experience working independently to quickly identify problems and devising either a temporary and/or long-term solution as required
* Excellent communication skills (written and oral) are essential.
* Must have experience with Microsoft Office and be proficient in supporting dynamic project schedules
* Ability to pass skills testing for grip and static strength, dynamic lifting, and work/positional tolerance
* US Citizenship required
* Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance
* Ability to travel 75% or more on domestic and international installations of large Antenna Systems and support facilities
* Ability to travel domestic and internationally for extended periods of time
* Must be able to come into the office in Duluth, GA What will help you on the job * Mechanical and electrical background and ability to assemble complex antenna systems from complex dwgs and schematics
* Experience installing large satellite ground stations up to 24M diameter
Experience or knowledge of Photogrammetry technics for adjusting reflectors
* Ablw to work at heights, operate heavy equipment such as: manlifts, fork lifts and direct crane operators in lifting of heavy antenna system parts.
* Lead large groups of sub contractors in day to day operations.
* Knowledge of and ability to use Microsoft office products.
#LI-VSAT Salary range $61,500.00 - $97,000.00 / annually.For specific work locations within San Jose, the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, the base pay range for this role is $76,500.00- $114,500.00/ annually At Viasat, we consider many factors when it comes to compensation, including the scope of the position as well as your background and experience.
