Window Installer Apprentice information

What is a window installer apprentice?

A Window Installer Apprentice is an entry-level worker who assists experienced window installers in removing, fitting, and securing new windows in residential or commercial buildings. Apprentices learn the trade through hands-on training, helping with measurements, material handling, and basic installation tasks. Over time, they develop the skills needed to become independent window installers. This role often requires attention to detail, physical stamina, and a willingness to work in various weather conditions.

What are some typical challenges a window installer apprentice might face during their training period?

As a Window Installer Apprentice, you may encounter challenges such as learning to accurately measure and fit various window types, adapting to different building materials, and working efficiently in varying weather conditions. Apprentices often need to develop strong attention to detail to ensure windows are sealed and installed properly for energy efficiency and safety. Additionally, collaborating effectively with more experienced installers and communicating with clients on-site are key skills you'll refine during your apprenticeship.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a window installer apprentice, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Window Installer Apprentice, you need basic carpentry skills, mechanical aptitude, and a high school diploma or equivalent. Familiarity with hand and power tools, as well as safety certifications like OSHA, are typically required. Strong attention to detail, teamwork, and good communication help apprentices excel on job sites. These abilities ensure installations are precise, safe, and meet customer expectations for quality and service.

This is not a short-term construction gig.
This is a strict, professional trade environment for people who want stability, skill, and growth.
We are The Brothers That Just Do Gutters — a nationally recognized gutter installation company known for professionalism, craftsmanship, and 5-star service. We are building a reliable, high-standards team, and we hire accordingly.
If you are frequently late, job-hopping, or “between things,” do not apply.
???? The Installer Track (How You Actually Get Paid More)
This role starts as an Apprentice and progresses based on skill + reliability, not promises.
Pay Progression (non-negotiable):

  • Apprentice (First 30 days): $17–$20/hr
  • Apprentice (30+ days, meeting standards): $20–$22/hr
  • Independent Gutter Installer (can print, cut, and hang own gutters with inside/outside tab cuts): $25+/hr

  • Advanced Installer (everything above + can fabricate & install downspouts independently): $28+/hr

  • Lead Installer / Truck Lead: $30–$35/hr

Raises are earned by demonstrated skill and reliability, not tenure.
???? What You’ll Do
  • Assist with gutter installation, prep, and cleanup
  • Learn to safely use ladders, tools, and equipment
  • Train under an experienced Lead Installer
  • Progress toward independently cutting, hanging, and finishing gutters
  • Maintain a clean, professional job site - highly important
  • Interact respectfully with customers and teammates
  • Work outdoors in all weather conditions
✅ Non-Negotiable Requirements (Read Carefully)
You will not be hired unless all are true:
  • Work start time is 7:00 AM sharp (this is not a window)
  • You have reliable transportation

  • You show up on time, every day

  • No drugs, no drinking, no smoking on job sites

  • You can take direction without attitude
  • You are willing to submit to a background check

  • You are looking for long-term, stable work

  • You are physically able to lift ladders and work on roofs
???? Zero-Tolerance Policy During Probation
All new hires begin with a 30-day probation period.
During probation:

  • Any theft = termination and police report
We take professionalism seriously because our customers trust us in their homes.

  • Coachable and respectful
  • Looking for consistency and growth
  • Proud of doing things the right way
  • Tired of chaotic job sites and bad leadership
This role is not a fit if:
  • You struggle with punctuality
  • You job-hop
  • You only care about hourly pay
  • You dislike structure or accountability
???? How to Apply
When applying, you must answer the screening questions.
