Job description

We are currently seeking a skilled Carpenter to join our team. You will collaborate to construct, install, and repair a variety of mostly residential projects, especially kitchen and bath remodeling, decks, small additions, as well as work on older period homes. Knowledge of trim install, built-in construction and installation, doors, and window installation will be needed. Additionally, working knowledge of structural framing as well as types of trim detail framing. As a small company, working well with others is essential. A willingness to work with training carpenters is also needed. You should know how to read and interpret blueprints, work with raw and finish materials, and have a good working knowledge of standard industry tools and equipment. Currently with an abundance of work so this is a full-time position. Work is primarily on the North Shore, so living in closer proximity is preferred. This is a family-style company and not for everyone.
Carpenter Duties and Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches and understand project specifications
  • Take measurements and calculate the sizes and amounts of materials needed for the project
  • Build window frames, doors, staircases, frame buildings, and other structures by using raw materials or pre-constructed items
  • Install siding, cabinets, trim, baseboard, trim out windows (exterior & interior), and hardwood floors
  • Inspect products and conduct repairs or maintenance as needed
  • Comply with all company and governmental (OSHA) safety guidelines
Carpenter Requirements and Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Completion of a carpentry program at a vocational school or carpentry apprenticeship preferred. Field experience is also acceptable
  • 8+ years of professional carpentry experience
  • Strong working knowledge of carpentry techniques and methods, including installation and construction and finish work
  • Proficient in using power and hand tools as well as measurement tools
  • Able to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
  • Good physical condition, stamina, and dexterity
  • Own transportation and hand tools are required
