What are some common challenges faced by workers in a window factory, and how can they be addressed?

Workers in a window factory often encounter challenges such as maintaining quality control during high-volume production, ensuring safety while handling glass and heavy materials, and meeting tight production deadlines. Addressing these challenges involves thorough training on equipment and safety procedures, consistent communication with team members, and following standardized processes to minimize errors. Many factories also emphasize teamwork, as close collaboration helps maintain workflow efficiency and enables quick response to any issues that arise.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a window factory worker, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Window Factory Worker, you need manual dexterity, attention to detail, and a basic understanding of manufacturing processes, often supported by a high school diploma or equivalent. Familiarity with hand tools, power equipment, safety protocols, and sometimes CNC machinery is typically required. Reliability, teamwork, and strong communication skills help workers collaborate efficiently and maintain a safe work environment. These skills are crucial for ensuring product quality, workplace safety, and efficient production in a factory setting.

What is the difference between Window Factory vs Window Installer?

AspectWindow FactoryWindow Installer
Required CredentialsNone or basic manufacturing certificationsDriver's license, installation certifications
Work EnvironmentManufacturing plant, assembly lineOn-site at customer locations
Industry UsageManufacturing and production of windowsInstallation and servicing of windows

Window Factory roles focus on manufacturing, assembly, and quality control within a factory setting, requiring manufacturing skills and certifications. In contrast, Window Installers work directly at customer sites, installing and replacing windows, often needing installation certifications and driving licenses. Both roles are essential in the window industry but differ significantly in work environment and job functions.

What is a window factory?

A window factory is a manufacturing facility where windows for buildings and houses are designed, assembled, and produced. These factories use various materials such as wood, aluminum, vinyl, or fiberglass to create window frames and panes. The process typically includes cutting and shaping materials, fitting glass, assembling components, and finishing the products for shipment. Window factories may also offer custom window solutions to meet specific architectural or energy efficiency requirements.

The Opportunity

Adobe Unified Platform is building the system that changes how software gets made at Adobe. A platform that understands buildersโ€™ intent, breaks down complex work, executes it through autonomous agents, and improves with every cycle. What this team ships multiplies across thousands of Adobe engineers, and it's the substrate the rest of Adobe's agentic efforts build on.

Meta Factory is the core of that platform: the Agentic Builders Experience that defines how agents understand their goals, decompose work, use tools, evaluate their own outcomes, and improve over time. Think of it as our own version of Claude Code, optimized for Adobe needs, model independent and operated for the whole company.

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer with deep expertise in agent runtimes, model context protocols, multi-agent coordination, tool calling patterns, sandboxed execution, and feedback-driven improvement systems to help build and shape Meta Factoryโ€™s core agent harness systems.

What youโ€™ll do
  • Shape the technical direction of the Agent Harness across agent execution, tool use, context, state, and lifecycle management.
  • Define clear interfaces and standards for how agents, tools, and Meta Factory interact with the harness.
  • Evaluate emerging agent runtime and tool-use patterns, and help teams adopt the right approaches for Adobeโ€™s needs.
  • Build reusable architecture patterns for agentic systems that are secure, scalable, and maintainable.
  • Lead cross-team technical work and help resolve complex design challenges across Meta Factory and partner teams.
  • Share expertise through design docs, technical reviews, internal forums, and mentoring engineers working on agentic systems.
What youโ€™ll need to succeed
  • 12+ years of software engineering experience, with a track record of delivering high-impact systems used by multiple teams or products.
  • Strong expertise in distributed systems, runtime design, and platform architecture.
  • Experience building agentic systems, LLM infrastructure, developer platforms, or other AI-enabled systems.
  • Proven ability to design scalable systems that balance near-term delivery with long-term maintainability.
  • Experience leading complex technical work across teams, including design reviews, implementation planning, and technical decision-making.
  • Proven ability to balance near-term delivery with long-term maintainability, security, and operational reliability.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including experience writing design documents and sharing technical knowledge across teams.
  • Experience mentoring engineers and building team confidence with new execution patterns and infrastructure.
