Job Summary:
This posting is for a Federal Work Study position. To be eligible for WorkStudy positions you must maintain enrollment in at least six (6) credits at LBCC, maintain satisfactory academic progress throughout each term and maintain a cumulative grade point average of 2.0 or better (some positions may require a higher GPA), and have financial aid in place.
The Retail Specialist work study position will assist the Campus Store team with the daily operations. They will work independently assisting customers, cashiering, maintaining a well stocked and clean salesfloor as well as other duties as assigned. The Retail Specialist will provide excellent customer service with a friendly and positive attitude. This position requires attention to detail, communication skills, punctuality and flexibility.
Essential Duties:
  1. Point of customer interactions including but not limited to cashiering, assist customers in locating textbooks, supplies, clothing, and other merchandise.
  2. Provide customer assistance in taking special orders.
  3. Assist in receiving, stocking, facing, and rotating all merchandise.
  4. Process mail orders to include; pulling and packaging textbooks and store merchandise.
  5. Involved in the development and execution of exciting store retail displays and the front window display.
  6. Make Store deliveries on campus.
  7. Assists with the student buyback and textbook return processing.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
  • Position involves periods of extended standing, climbing, stooping, kneeling, lifting and carrying light to medium weight (10-50 lbs.)

Education and Experience
  • Must maintain enrollment in at least six (6) credits at LBCC, maintain satisfactory academic progress throughout each term and maintain a cumulative grade point average of 2.0 or better (some positions may require a higher GPA), and have financial aid in place to be eligible to work in a Work Study student employee capacity at Linn-Benton Community College

  • All tasks must be done with a positive attitude and efficiency.
  • Looking for people with a willingness to learn and help.
  • Position requires attention to detail, mathematical and filing skills.
  • Cashiering experience preferred but not required.
  • A positive attitude and great communication skills.
