Job description

Job Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Display Fabrication & Finishing Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating laminating and mounting equipment, as well as designing, cutting, and assembling custom Point of Purchase (POP) displays, signs, and retail fixtures. The ideal candidate blends technical machinery skills with a creative eye for structure and structural assembly.


Key Responsibilities

Lamination & Mounting Equipment Operations

  • Operate, adjust, and maintain roll laminators (hot/cold) to apply protective overlaminates, adhesives, and mounting films.
  • Mount large-format prints and vinyl graphics cleanly onto a variety of rigid and flexible substrates (e.g., Foam-Cor, Gatorboard, Sintra/PVC, acrylic, corrugated plastic, wood, and aluminum composite materials) without bubbles, wrinkles, or debris.

POP Display Design & Fabrication

  • Design, prototype, and fabricate custom temporary, semi-permanent, and permanent POP displays, counter units, endcaps, and floor stands.
  • Interpret design specs, engineering drawings, and vector files (AI, CAD, PDF) to determine material selection, assembly methods, and structural stability.
  • Operate cutting and fabrication equipment such as CNC routers, flatbed Zund cutters/plotters and hand tools.
  • Assemble complex multi-material displays using adhesives, fasteners, mechanical joints, and thermal bending.

Quality Control & Workflow

  • Inspect finished products for visual appeal, structural integrity, and exact alignment with project specifications.
  • Troubleshoot production issues on the fly and recommend material or design adjustments to improve durability or ease of assembly.
  • Maintain an organized, safe, and efficient workspace following shop safety protocols.


Qualifications & Skills

  • Experience: 2+ years of hands-on experience in large-format printing, sign-making, or custom POP display manufacturing.
  • Equipment Knowledge: Proven proficiency with laminators, flatbed cutters/routers, table saws, acrylic bending equipment, and hand tools.
  • Technical Software: Familiarity with vector design software (Adobe Illustrator, CorelDRAW) or CAD packaging software (e.g., ArtiosCAD) is highly preferred.
  • Material Expertise: Deep understanding of graphic films, pressure-sensitive adhesives, rigid substrates, and corrugated materials.
  • Key Traits: High attention to detail, strong spatial awareness, solid math/measurement skills, and excellent problem-solving abilities under tight deadlines.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for extended periods, and handle large sheets of substrate material.
