Job description

Title: Site Assistant

Company: Cedarglen Homes

Location: Calgary, Alberta (On-Site / Field Based)

Term: Full-time, permanent


Position Description

The Site Assistant will support the Site Supervisors and construction team in ensuring homes progress efficiently through each construction stage. This role is hands-on and supports scheduling coordination, site readiness, quality checks, and completion of defined stage tasks to help deliver homes to Cedarglen Homes’ standards. The Site Assistant reports to the Construction Manager and Site Supervisor(s) in each assigned to community/area.


Key Responsibilities

  • Support Site Supervisors across all construction stages by completing scheduled site-assistant tasks and maintaining readiness for trade activity and inspections.
  • Perform site prep and early-stage tasks such as utility exposure and basement floor sealing/finishing.
  • Assist during framing stage with installs and prep work including exterior doors, pocket doors, attic hatch, and general site sweep-outs.
  • Complete framing/rough-in support and deficiency items (e.g., blocking/backing, fire caulking, tub decks, garage drops) as required.
  • Participate in and support drywall and paint inspections, completing minor drywall repairs and coordinating follow-up items with the Site Supervisor.
  • Prepare homes for pre-occupancy and turnover: seal penetrations/cracks, caulking, window cleaning, removing floor protection, basement floor paint, and general detailing.
  • Complete touch-ups and deficiency repairs following Home Orientation to ensure final quality standards are met.


Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in residential construction, site support, or a related trade.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work effectively in a fast-paced, changing environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, and ability to collaborate with Site Supervisors, trades, and internal teams.
  • Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions and be able to complete the physical requirements of the position.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
