Job description

Carpenter - Window & Door Installer

Location: Grimes, IA

Job Overview

We are hiring a Carpenter to support residential and multifamily construction projects throughout Central Iowa. This role focuses on window and door installation, finish carpentry, framing, and remodeling work. You'll work alongside an experienced team that takes pride in craftsmanship, safety, and quality. Whether you have installation experience or a strong carpentry background, this is a great opportunity to grow your skills and advance your career.

Responsibilities
  • Meet at the Grimes shop each morning and travel to job sites throughout Central Iowa.
  • Load and transport tools, materials, and equipment needed for daily projects.
  • Install residential and multifamily windows and doors.
  • Complete finish carpentry tasks including trim work, door hanging, and hardware installation.
  • Measure, cut, and fit materials accurately using hand and power tools.
  • Assist with framing, remodeling, and tenant improvement projects.
  • Build and repair decks, room additions, and other structural components.
  • Install cabinets and perform additional finish carpentry work as needed.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and construction specifications.
Qualifications

Required:

  • Previous experience in carpentry, construction, remodeling, or installation.
  • Proficiency with hand tools and power tools.
  • Ability to lift and carry construction materials throughout the workday.
  • Strong work ethic and ability to work effectively on a team.

Preferred:

  • Experience installing windows and doors.
  • Finish carpentry experience, including trim work and hardware installation.
  • Framing and remodeling experience.
  • Ability to read blueprints and construction drawings.
  • Valid driver's license.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $30.00/hr.
