Site Wind Technician (7 Openings)

Location: Tioga, ND (Northwest North Dakota)

Department: Operations & Maintenance (O&M)

About the Role

We are hiring 7 Wind Technicians to support a growing wind site in northwest North Dakota. While experience on Vestas V100 turbines is preferred, we are open to training mechanically inclined candidates with strong electrical fundamentals. This is an immediate opportunity to join a stable, expanding team with long-term growth potential.

Compensation & Benefits

  • $25โ€“$45/hour (based on experience)

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform and assist with mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical maintenance on wind turbines
  • Troubleshoot turbine systems, including basic SCADA communication issues
  • Document work performed, parts used, and labor through digital service reports
  • Follow all safety protocols and maintain a safe work environment
  • Support site operations as directed by Site Supervisor/Manager
  • Maintain tools and service vehicles in proper working condition
  • Participate in on-call rotation (including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed)

Basic Qualifications

  • Mechanical aptitude with basic electrical knowledge (formal or hands-on)
  • Ability to climb wind turbines up to 300 ft and work at heights
  • Valid driverโ€™s license with a clean driving record
  • Ability to work in extreme weather conditions and confined spaces
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work independently

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Vestas, GE, or Siemens Gamesa turbines
  • Ability to read schematics and wiring diagrams
  • Experience with SCADA systems or electrical troubleshooting
  • Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) familiarity

Experience Levels

  • Entry-Level: Mechanical or electrical background; training provided
  • Mid-Level: 2โ€“5+ years wind technician experience
  • Senior: 5+ years with advanced troubleshooting capability

Additional Requirements

  • Willingness to travel occasionally as needed
  • Ability to pass drug screen and background check
  • Interest in building a long-term career in wind energy
