DTS is looking for experienced Project Manager (Payroll) for a direct client position in Troy, MI

Role description :

Payroll Project Manager

We are seeking a senior level Project Manager with advanced payroll implementation experience that aligns with the upper end of the rate range.

Summary

The Project Manager will oversee the successful migration of Wind Riverโ€™s US payroll processing fromย ADP Workforce Nowย to the existing ADP GlobalView platform with a targeted go live date of January 1, 2027.

This initiative will also include:

  • Transition to a Workday HRIS integration
  • Implementation of new benefits vendors
  • Payroll data migration and validation
  • GL interface mapping to Oracle ERP

The Project Manager will lead the full payroll implementation lifecycle, ensuring accurate master data migration, proper system configuration, compliance adherence, and a seamless transition. This individual will manage internal and external stakeholders, define project scope and timelines, oversee milestones and delivery phases, and provide ongoing support and communication throughout the implementation.

Responsibilities

Project Setup

  • Partner with onboarding teams and client stakeholders to organize and lead kickoff meetings
  • Create, maintain, and manage detailed project plans and implementation schedules
  • Define project scope, timelines, milestones, deliverables, and dependencies

Project Management

  • Lead internal and external project review meetings and status calls
  • Coordinate and manage all implementation workstreams
  • Manage changes to project scope, timelines, and delivery schedules
  • Escalate risks, issues, and dependencies appropriately to senior leadership
  • Provide regular status reporting and project updates

Payroll Process Requirements

  • Define and document payroll process requirements
  • Establish payroll data and operational requirements
  • Collaborate with Payroll, HR, Finance, and cross functional stakeholders to gather requirements

System Configuration and Integration

  • Oversee setup and configuration of payroll systems, interfaces, and reporting
  • Manage integration efforts between ADP GlobalView, Workday HRIS, benefits vendors, and Oracle ERP
  • Map GL interfaces to Wind Riverโ€™s Oracle ERP environment

Data Migration and Validation

  • Oversee migration of payroll data from ADP Workforce Now to ADP GlobalView
  • Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and security throughout the migration process
  • Generate reports to analyze, audit, reconcile, and validate payroll data
  • Confirm payroll outputs match legacy system results

Testing and Go Live Support

  • Develop and execute comprehensive testing and validation plans
  • Identify and resolve system or process issues prior to go live
  • Lead go live readiness activities and transition support
  • Coordinate project sign off and final documentation

Documentation and Communication

  • Maintain detailed project documentation, including:
    • Project plans
    • Status reports
    • Process documentation
    • Client specific workflows and procedures
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all payroll project matters
  • Schedule and lead weekly client meetings to review project progress, risks, issues, actions, and dependencies

Compliance and Change Management

  • Ensure payroll processes comply with applicable tax and labor laws
  • Stay current on payroll compliance requirements and regulatory changes
  • Implement change management strategies to support employee and HR adoption during transition

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience leading payroll implementations and payroll operations projects
  • Strong experience managing large scale, complex implementations under tight deadlines
  • Hands on experience with:
    • ADP Workforce Now
    • ADP GlobalView
    • Workday HRIS integrations
  • Strong understanding of payroll processes, compliance, and data migration best practices
  • Experience with payroll testing, validation, reconciliation, and reporting
  • Excellent organizational, communication, stakeholder management, and problem solving skills
  • Experience working with ERP integrations, preferably Oracle
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field required
  • Masterโ€™s degree preferred
