• Conduct thorough mental health assessments for elderly patients, considering their unique psychosocial and physical challenges.
• Design and manage tailored treatment plans that incorporate evidence-based therapeutic methods, cognitive behavioral strategies, and psychoeducation.
• Provide individual and family therapy sessions, offering a safe space for clients to express their concerns related to geriatric psychiatric conditions.
• Work closely with geriatric psychiatrists and multidisciplinary team members to ensure cohesive, comprehensive care tailored to each patient's needs.
• Deliver crisis intervention services, supporting patients and their families during key moments of mental health emergencies.
• Educate clients and their families regarding mental health disorders, care strategies, and available community resources to aid in their journey toward recovery.
• Maintain meticulous and confidential documentation in accordance with state regulations and ethical guidelines.
• Participate actively in case consultations, team meetings, and ongoing professional development workshops to refine therapeutic skills and knowledge.

As a therapist at Willow Counseling Center, you will primarily work with elderly patients, many of whom face conditions such as depression, anxiety, dementia-related disorders, and adjustment difficulties associated with aging. Understanding the complexities surrounding geriatric mental health is essential to building effective relationships and enhancing treatment outcomes for this vulnerable population.

• A Master’s or doctoral degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
• Current licensure as an LCSW, LPC, or LMFT in the state of Oregon.
• Strong interpersonal skills, demonstrating a patient-centered, empathetic approach to patient care.
• Proficiency in utilizing electronic health record (EHR) systems to document patient care comprehensively.
• A thorough understanding of the complexities of geriatric mental health disorders, treatment modalities, and interventions.

• A minimum of two years of post-licensure clinical experience is preferred, especially in geriatric therapy.
• Experience delivering both individual and family therapy to the elderly population is highly desirable.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team setting.
