Dermatology Medical Assistant

We are seeking a motivated, detail-oriented Dermatology Medical Assistant to join our growing practice. This role is essential to providing excellent patient care and supporting providers in both medical and procedural dermatology. The ideal candidate is comfortable scribing, assisting with in-office procedures, maintaining sterile instruments, and delivering compassionate, efficient care in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Scribe in real time during patient visits, accurately documenting histories, exams, assessments, and plans in the EHR
  • Room patients, obtain vital signs, and update medical histories
  • Prepare patients and rooms for examinations and procedures
  • Assist providers with medical and surgical dermatology procedures, including biopsies and excisions
  • Maintain sterile technique and assist with instrument setup and breakdown
  • Clean, sterilize, and properly store instruments according to protocol
  • Administer medications and injections as directed by providers
  • Provide patient education and post-procedure instructions
  • Manage prior authorizations, medication refills, and follow-up tasks as needed
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe clinical environment
  • Collaborate with providers and staff to ensure efficient patient flow and excellent care
Required Qualifications
  • Medical Assistant certification or equivalent experience preferred
  • Prior dermatology experience strongly preferred (willing to train the right candidate)
