Job description

The Forest Preserve District of DuPage County is seeking a Seasonal Wildlife Custodian to join our custodial team at the DuPage Wildlife Conservation Center located in Glen Ellyn, IL. This unique position provides the opportunity to contribute to the larger mission of wildlife rehab and visitor education through day-to-day custodial tasks and support.

Compensation

Rate of pay $18.00-$20.00 per hour, dependent on experience.

About the Role

We are looking for someone who takes pride in cleanliness and basic maintenance. This unique position provides the opportunity to assist with cleaning and routine maintenance of animal rehabilitation areas and equipment. While this position does not interact with wildlife, it does require the ability to work in a wildlife hospital setting. Typical duties include surface cleanings, mopping, trash/recycle disposal, and other related custodial duties as needed.

Schedule

Friday/Saturday/Sunday/Monday 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, May through mid-October

Key Qualifications

  • Positive attitude and strong work ethic
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • 1 year experience as a custodian or maintenance worker strongly desired
