Job description

Ignite Curiosity in the Lab: Join a Dynamic Diagnostic Team Near Stunning Lake Views
Overview
We are on the lookout for a Medical Lab Technician who embodies a blend of curiosity and precision-an individual passionate about enhancing patient care one specimen at a time. In this rewarding full-time, day-shift position at a bustling community hospital in a charming lakeside setting, you will play a pivotal role in delivering essential diagnostic results. Collaborate with like-minded colleagues in an environment where your contributions are valued, supported by a comprehensive rewards package tailored to enrich both your career trajectory and overall well-being.
Responsibilities - What Awaits You
  • Conduct both routine and complex clinical laboratory tests-including chemistry, hematology, and immunology-adhering to established protocols.
  • Ensure the accuracy of results, resolve discrepancies, and perform maintenance and calibration of laboratory instruments.
  • Assist in the collection of specimens and prepare samples for testing as required.
  • Thoroughly document all procedures, assist in training new staff or students, and maintain high-quality laboratory standards.
  • Promote safety within the lab through cleanliness and adherence to regulatory and accreditation standards.
Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Clinical or Medical Laboratory Science, or an equivalent allied health degree, accompanied by preparation for ASCP/AMT certification.
Certifications
  • ASCP or AMT Board of Certification in Clinical Laboratory Science (CLS) is to be obtained within one year of hire.
  • Ensure ongoing certification throughout your tenure.
Skills
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities for effective collaboration with multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment and problem-solving in dynamic or high-pressure environments.
  • Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail, particularly regarding quality control and documentation.
Benefits
  • Attractive salary based on your experience and qualifications.
  • Full suite of competitive benefits: medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance.
  • Generous time-off policy from day one, alongside vacation and holiday time with experience recognition.
  • Opportunities for continuous education and professional development.
  • A comprehensive total rewards package focused on your holistic wellness.

Delivering Impact Through Numbers
Your meticulous work in the lab drives crucial decisions made by doctors and impacts patient wellness. One test might determine the presence of an infection, leading to timely antibiotic use; another could detect a metabolic issue before it escalates. The accuracy you bring to your role instills confidence in healthcare professionals and reassures patients each day.
A Culture Built on Teamwork
This position transcends mere responsibility; it's about joining a community. Your team appreciates progressive ideas, and various initiatives-from seasonal lab meetings to competency refreshers-create an environment where every voice counts. You'll have opportunities to participate in committees, suggest process improvements, and mentor newcomers.
Thriving Community: Where Lakeside Beauty Meets Vibrancy
Imagine a collection of scenic lakes with shaded paths that meander by glistening waters, bustling farmers markets filled with fresh local produce, and a vibrant array of arts events. Envision neighborhood coffee shops acting as social hubs for rich conversations spanning from daily anecdotes to engaging discussions about local affairs. Free time could be spent enjoying paddleboarding at dawn, or attending a live concert under leafy canopies. The local community is welcoming, and the residents genuinely reflect the collaborative spirit of the healthcare sector.
Availability of quaint shops, outdoor trails, engaging community theaters, and countless hobbies-from wildlife spotting to competitive sports-add to the allure. Commuting is seamless, with convenient access to major transport options, offering a more balanced lifestyle than that found in larger urban areas. Here, housing expenses are reasonable, allowing your earnings to go further towards enriching experiences-whether rooftop gatherings, spontaneous weekend trips, or local sporting events.
Making a Difference, Elevating Standards
In this community, every laboratory employee stands as more than just a technician; you're a foundational component of community health. Your efforts create a ripple effect: expedited diagnostics, enhanced patient care, happier outcomes, and sustainable health practices. Each heartfelt 'thank you' note is a testament not only to your precision but to the appreciation for your essential role in delivering timely and effective care.
Your Moment to Dive Deeper into the Lab
If you seek something beyond a regular paycheck-if you're compelled by a sense of purpose, personal development, and a desire to make a difference-this opportunity could be your path. Whether you're freshly certified or bring years of valuable experience, you'll discover support, growth, and opportunity await.
Ready to Begin Your New Journey?
Embrace a role where your technical expertise lands in a community that champions innovation alongside warmth-where each lab test tells a story of healing. If you're enthusiastic about contributing to an environment that celebrates precision, teamwork, and compassion, we are excited to connect with you.
Apply now and help pave the way towards a future in which science saves lives-and where the science integrates seamlessly into everyday humanity.
