JOB SUMMARY
Primary responsibility is the washing of all restaurant dishes, glasses, utensils, pots, pans, and equipment. Completes deep cleaning tasks as posted on a master cleaning schedule. Responsible for equipment maintenance and cleaning. Informs management of any malfunctions of machinery. Is familiar with and follows sanitation rules and regulations. May assist in other areas of the kitchen or restaurant depending on experience and business needs, such as, prep cooking, cleaning and helping bussers.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
  1. Ensure customer satisfaction through prompt, efficient, and friendly service.
  2. Wash dishes, glassware, silverware, pots, pans, and utensils. Restock items in an organized manner.
  3. Deep cleans kitchen areas as dictated per shift cleaning schedule.
  4. Assists in keeping the entire kitchen clean and organized.
  5. Daily maintenance of dishwasher equipment and report any deficiencies to the supervisor.
  6. Continuous maintenance of dishwasher and kitchen area as being clean and grease-free.
  7. During slow times, assist with utility maintenance cleaning as directed.
  8. Help bussers empty bus trays at peak times.
  9. Take clean dishes, silverware, and all glassware to the dining room as needed.
  10. Promotes a clean, safe, and healthy work environment for employees and guests. Promptly reports all concerns to the supervisor.
  11. During overload or staff shortage time, may function in a Busser or prep cooking role.
  12. Comply with regulatory laws, employee handbook, department policy and procedures, safety codes, etc.
  13. When needed, assist in other areas of the kitchen due to business needs.
  14. Ensure that the operation of equipment, tools, and materials is handled safely.
  15. Promote internal guest service standards through courteous and respectful behavior.

SUPERVISORY AUTHORITY:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  1. Needs to work with water and chemicals.
  2. Able to follow written and oral instructions.
  3. Need to read and understand product labels.
  4. Need to stand and/or walk for long periods; able to perform repetitive motions with wrist, hands and fingers; able to lift and maneuver 50lbs.
  5. Effective communication skills - verbally needed to provide instruction, respond to questions, and have exceptional interpersonal skills and abilities.
  6. Available to work all hours, shifts, weekends, and holidays.
  7. Exhibits a professional demeanor through appearance and by maintaining a positive attitude toward all employees and guests.
  8. Must possess or obtain a food handlers certificate within 30 days of employment.
  9. Requires a criminal history background check.
  10. Must be at least 18 years of age.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  1. Three (3) months experience working as a dishwasher.
  2. Three (3) months of experience in food services.
  3. Ability to work unsupervised.
