To thrive as a Wildfire Remote Sensing Specialist, you need expertise in environmental science, GIS, and remote sensing technologies, often supported by a relevant degree or certification. Familiarity with tools like ArcGIS, satellite imagery analysis software, and data modeling systems is typically required. Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and effective communication skills help interpret data and collaborate with firefighting teams. These competencies are crucial for accurately assessing wildfire risks and informing rapid, data-driven response strategies.

What are some common challenges faced by professionals working in wildfire remote monitoring roles, and how can these be addressed?

Professionals in wildfire remote monitoring often face challenges such as rapidly changing environmental conditions, maintaining reliable communication with field teams, and interpreting large volumes of real-time data from sensors and satellite imagery. To address these, teams typically rely on robust communication protocols, advanced GIS tools, and ongoing training in data analysis. Collaboration with emergency response units and constant learning about new technologies are key to staying effective and responsive in this dynamic role.

What are Wildfire Remote jobs?

Wildfire Remote jobs refer to positions where individuals monitor, manage, or support wildfire detection and response efforts from remote locations, often using technology such as satellite imagery, drones, or remote sensing equipment. These roles can include data analysts, remote operations coordinators, and technical support specialists who help track fire behavior, communicate with on-the-ground teams, and provide critical information for emergency response. Wildfire Remote jobs are essential for improving the speed and accuracy of wildfire response, especially in areas that are difficult to access. They often require strong technical skills, knowledge of fire science, and the ability to work effectively in high-pressure situations.

Job description

Staff Product Manager

AiDASH is an enterprise AI company and the leading provider of vegetation risk intelligence for electric utilities. Powered by proprietary VegetationAITM technology, AiDASH delivers a unified remote grid inspection and monitoring platform that uses a SatelliteFirst approach to identify and address vegetation and other threats to the grid. With a prevention-first strategy to mitigate wildfire risk and minimize storm impacts, AiDASH helps more than 140 utilities reduce costs, improve reliability, and lower liability across their networks. AiDASH exists to safeguard critical utility infrastructure and secure the future of humanAItyTM.

As a Staff Product Manager, you'll own and drive the strategy, development, and market impact of our AI-powered platforms that help utilities prevent failures, anticipate risks, and respond to emergencies. You'll lead products across our portfolio, including AIMS for intelligent asset monitoring, IVMS for vegetation and wildfire risk assessment, and CRIS for a unified view of climate and operational risk. Your role will be critical in translating complex technical and operational challenges into actionable product roadmaps that improve grid reliability, safety, and operational efficiency.

  • Asset Inspection and Monitoring System (AIMS): Computer vision and machine learning to detect equipment anomalies, corrosion, structural defects, and failure indicators across transmission and distribution infrastructure
  • Intelligent Vegetation Management System (IVMS): AI-powered assessment of vegetation encroachment risks, growth rates, and wildfire hazards in utility corridors
  • Climate Risk Intelligence System (CRIS): Unified enterprise platform that converges intelligence from AIMS and IVMS to provide a holistic view of wildfire and storm risk, enabling utilities to prioritize investments, optimize maintenance strategies, and make data-driven decisions during both day-to-day operations and emergency events

You'll take full ownership of your product area, collaborating closely with engineering, customer success, sales, and leadership to deliver solutions from concept to enterprise adoption. Success in this role requires balancing competing priorities, synthesizing insights from diverse stakeholders, and making fast, high-impact decisions in a scaling organization. Working at the intersection of AI, utility operations, and infrastructure resilience, your product leadership will directly prevent outages, enhance emergency preparedness, and strengthen critical infrastructure for millions of people.

How you'll make an impact:

  • Own and evolve the product strategy and roadmap for AIMS, IVMS, or CRIS, making high-quality trade-offs that balance customer value, technical complexity, and business impact
  • Lead end-to-end product execution - from discovery through enterprise launch - driving clarity, alignment, and measurable outcomes with minimal oversight
  • Translate deep customer insight (utility operators, asset managers, emergency teams) into scalable, AI-driven capabilities that improve grid reliability and risk mitigation
  • Define MVP scope, prioritize effectively, and ship high-impact features quickly in a fast-scaling environment
  • Enable unified risk intelligence by driving seamless data integration across platforms and ensuring enterprise-grade reliability and performance
  • Partner cross-functionally with engineering, sales, marketing, and customer success to accelerate adoption, prove ROI, and scale product-market fit across major utility operators

What we're looking for:

  • Minimum 8 years of product management (or related) experience, with a track record of owning and delivering complex, high-impact products in B2B or enterprise environments
  • Demonstrated ability to ramp quickly in new domains and translate unfamiliar, complex problem spaces into strong product outcomes
  • Strong judgment in making product trade-offs, prioritizing effectively, and focusing teams on the highest-impact initiatives
  • Demonstrated ownership of complex, cross-functional initiatives from discovery through enterprise launch, with a track record of delivering measurable outcomes
  • Exceptional skills in synthesizing customer insights, data, market signals, and technical constraints into clear product strategy and actionable roadmaps
  • Proven experience shipping B2B or enterprise products in high-growth environments, defining MVP scope and iterating quickly to achieve product-market fit
  • Technical fluency and confidence partnering with engineering teams, navigating system trade-offs, and using metrics and experimentation to inform decisions
  • Bachelor's degree required; MBA or equivalent experience preferred

Preferred Qualifications (not mandatory):

  • Experience working on complex, high-impact products where reliability, scale, data complexity, or real-world consequences matter (e.g., infrastructure, fintech, healthcare, AI platforms, or similar domains)
  • Familiarity with AI/ML products, data platforms, or computer vision applications
  • Experience in regulated, operational, or mission-critical environments (e.g., utilities, energy, risk, or emergency response systems)

Who you are:

You're a pragmatic product leader who thrives in ambiguity and moves with urgency. You're deeply customer-focused, but not customer-led, able to synthesize diverse inputs, weigh trade-offs, and make decisive calls. You communicate with clarity and influence cross-functional teams without relying on formal authority.

You're intellectually curious about how utilities operate and energized by the potential of AI to solve complex infrastructure challenges. You care about building products that meaningfully improve reliability, strengthen climate resilience, and prevent catastrophic failures. You take ownership, navigate uncertainty with confidence, and drive outcomes - even when the path forward isn't fully defined.

What you'll love:

  • Comprehensive Medical, Dental, and Vision Coverage: 100% coverage for employees and 80% for their spouses and children
  • Health Reimbursement Account (HRA): 100% funded by AiDASH to cover medical deductibles
  • 401(k) Plan: Begin contributing after three months of employment to prepare for your future. Currently, no company match is offered
  • Parental Leave: Supportive parental leave with 16 weeks for primary caregivers and 4 weeks for secondary caregivers
  • Generous Vacation Policy: Accrue 20 vacation days per year, plus enjoy an additional flex holiday to celebrate whatever feels most important to you!
  • Winter Break: From December 25th through January 1st, we give everyone time off to recharge and enjoy time with family and friends!
