Description
The firefighter works under the fire officer responding to emergency fire, rescue, and medical incidents; provides support functions including equipment maintenance, records an reporting duties, and emergency medical treatment. Part-Time firefighters are required to work a minimum of 48 hours per month to maintain part-time employment.
Essential Functions & Qualifications
- Performs fire prevention, suppression, and rescue activities; responds to fire alarms and emergency medical calls; communicates with dispatcher and officer personnel in person and via two-way radio.
- Be aware of safety for you and other crew members at all times.
- Maintain a high quality of customer service with the citizens and public.
- Assist with the cleaning, maintenance and upkeep of buildings, grounds, apparatus and equipment; maintain service records on all department vehicles; maintain equipment inventory.
- Participate in school visits and public education.
- Must demonstrate regular and predictable attendance; attends or completed required education and training sessions as assigned, maintains required licenses and certifications.
Certification and Experience Requirements
Possess a valid Class B Exempt Drivers License or obtain one withing the first 6 months
Possess a DSHS EMT Basic or higher
Possess a TCFP Basic Structural Fire Fighter or higher
Possess National Incident Management Systems 100, 200, 700, 800
Additional Information
Must successfully pass a written exam and physical agility test prior to advancing in the process.
