About This Role

Whiz Kids Child Development Center is a Center based facility that is family orientated. We are looking for a School Age Lead Teacher to join our team of caring and creative care givers. Qualified candidates will possess a passion and joy for early childhood education. A successful preschool teacher will be energetic and enthusiastic. S/he won't be afraid to get wild and crazy with their kiddos.


Schedule:

Monday-Friday

Split shift: 6:30-9:00 A.M. 2:00-5:00 P.M.

Shift time may vary for time to lesson plan


What You'll Do

The Duties of a School Age Lead Teacher include (but are not limited to):

  • Design lesson plans that facilitate the children's social-emotional, cognitive, and physical development
  • Implement age-appropriate activities and work as a team player with peers and associates
  • Tend to children's basic needs
  • Mediate conflict between children
  • Model appropriate behaviors
  • Encourage staff/parent communication
  • Insure the center's philosophies and policies are implemented
  • Attend all staff meetings, continuing education, and center events
  • Maintain state mandated staff/student ratio at all times

Requirements

At Whiz Kids, a school age teacher must have:

  • Clear criminal record
  • Prior experience working with young children, preferably within a similar setting
  • Physically fit and able to lift up to 30 pounds
  • Warm, approachable disposition
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Passion for early childhood development

Nice To Haves
  • An Associates Degree in ECE or a related field
  • First aid certified per CT requirements
  • CPR certified per CT requirements
  • Medication certified per CT requirements
