Job Summary

Hamilton Health Center is seeking a Nutritionist I to support our WIC program by providing nutrition assessment, education, and counseling to eligible participants.

This role plays a key part in promoting maternal and child health by delivering individualized nutrition care, supporting healthy outcomes, and connecting participants with essential resources. The Nutritionist I will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to ensure participants receive high-quality, culturally responsive care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Certify and recertify participants for WIC eligibility in accordance with state and federal guidelines

  • Conduct comprehensive nutrition assessments, including anthropometric and hematological measurements

  • Develop and implement individualized nutrition care plans

  • Provide participant-centered nutrition education and counseling using VENA principles

  • Identify and document nutrition risk factors and maintain accurate participant records

  • Manage and monitor high-risk participants according to care plans

  • Prescribe and tailor food packages, including formula changes as appropriate

  • Refer participants to medical, social, and community resources

  • Support clinic operations, including satellite clinic coverage as assigned

  • Participate in trainings, meetings, and quality improvement initiatives

  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory, documentation, and confidentiality requirements

QualificationsRequired
  • Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, Public Health Nutrition, or a related field

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Basic computer proficiency (Microsoft Office)

  • Reliable transportation

Preferred
  • Experience in WIC or community nutrition programs

  • Knowledge of nutrition assessment and counseling practices

  • Bilingual (Spanish)

Work Environment
  • Work conducted in clinic settings, including satellite locations

  • May involve standing, measuring participants, and traveling between sites
