Under direct supervision of Lead WIC Coordinator (Program Coordinator II) serves as the Outreach Program Coordinator for the WIC Program. Performs multiple types of administrative and outreach duties which include educating and informing the public and community partners about the WIC program in order to bring awareness and increase participation numbers. To supervise the WIC SoW Team as they develop community partnerships.
- Provides oversight and direction of WIC SoW including maintaining MOA's, scheduling, utilization and quality improvement functions.
- Assists with developing community offsite WIC services including hospitals, Head Starts and other approved community locations.
- Functions as the lead contact between the WIC program and WIC Mobile Unit offsite locations.
- Supervises two WIC SoW staff members.
- Establishes contacts with community agencies to create partnerships in order to inform the public about WIC services.
- Participates in WIC outreach events, conducts WIC program presentations, completes in-person visits to potential community partners.
- Increases WIC awareness and participation by working the DSS WIC Eligible Report and other assigned reports.
- Works closely with other members of the WIC Management Team, Area Leadership and frontline staff.
- Serves as an active participant in developing and implementing the annual WIC Outreach Plan.
- Completes Administrative and program tasks to include clinic coverage as assigned by the Lead WIC Coordinator and/or Program Manager.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum and Additional Requirements
State Minimum State: A high school diploma and relevant program experience.
Agency Additional Requirements: A Bachelor's Degree and two (2) years administrative management or professional experience; an Associate's Degree and five (5) years experience in administrative, management or professional experience; or a high school diploma and six (6) years of administrative, management or professional experience. Must have advanced computer skills and office equipment knowledge. Must be able to work with limited supervision.
Any equivalent combination of education and/or experience that demonstrates the required knowledge, skills, and abilities may be considered in meeting the minimum qualifications, subject to approval by the DPH Chief Human Resources Officer, or their delegate.
