Structural Lead – Calgary, AB

Location: Calgary, Alberta
Compensation: $130,000 – $150,000 (commensurate with experience and established Alberta network)

An established and growing multidisciplinary consulting engineering firm is seeking an entrepreneurial Structural Lead to build and expand its structural presence in Calgary. This is a rare opportunity for a senior structural engineer who is motivated by leadership, business development, and the challenge of building a team within a supportive and growth-focused environment.

This role is ideal for someone with 10–15 years of experience in the building consulting space who is either currently operating at a senior/associate level or is ready to step into management. There is a clear pathway toward Principal-level within 12 months based on performance and business development success.

The Opportunity

  • Lead and grow the Structural Engineering division in Calgary

  • Build, mentor, and develop a high-performing structural team

  • Drive business development initiatives and strengthen client relationships across Alberta

  • Take ownership of project delivery, financial performance, and quality control

  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on commercial, residential, institutional, and mixed-use projects

  • Contribute strategically to the firm's long-term growth plan in Alberta

What We're Looking For

  • 10–15 years of structural design experience within the building consulting industry

  • Strong technical expertise in building structural systems (steel, concrete, wood)

  • Experience across commercial, residential, and/or institutional projects

  • P.Eng. designation with APEGA

  • Entrepreneurial mindset with strong interest in leadership and team building

  • Existing client relationships or network within Alberta is a strong asset

  • Ambition to grow into a Principal-level role
