Job description

Position Overview

CLF Consultants LLC seeks a Georgia-licensed Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) to deliver IEP-driven speech-language support services to students ages 3 through 21 across Whitfield County School System sites in Dalton, Georgia, working under the supervision of an ASHA-certified Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP).

The SLPA joins a multi-discipline contracted team aligned with Whitfield County's Special Education department and supports the SLP-of-record by delivering follow-up therapy sessions, implementing established treatment plans, collecting data on student progress, and assisting with IEP service-delivery logistics. Caseloads run approximately 55-65 students per direct-service discipline; assignment volumes vary by service model, campus distribution, and IEP changes across the school year. CLFC PMO works with the Whitfield County Special Education department to balance caseloads, cluster campuses to minimize drive time between schools, and rotate coverage as needed. The 8-hour billable workday is anchored to student school hours; service delivery is in-person preferred. Whitfield County provides instructional materials, computers, printers, and evaluation toolkits.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver speech-language treatment sessions designed by the supervising SLP, in accordance with each student's IEP and the SLP's written treatment plan
  • Implement therapy techniques (articulation drills, language activities, social-pragmatic practice, AAC use) with students under SLP supervision and consistent with Georgia SLPA scope of practice
  • Collect and document objective data on student performance during therapy sessions to inform the SLP's clinical decisions
  • Produce service-delivery logs matching each student's IEP service hours, in compliance with Medicaid billing documentation standards under SLP supervisory authorization
  • Prepare therapy materials, organize student folders, and assist with classroom-based language activities as directed by the supervising SLP
  • Communicate session observations to the supervising SLP promptly and accurately, including any concerns about student status, engagement, or behavior
Required Qualifications
  • Active Georgia license for Speech-Language Pathology Assistant in good standing (per Georgia Speech-Language Pathology Assistant Practice Act)
  • Completion of an accredited SLPA program (Bachelor's degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders or Associate's degree in SLPA preferred per Georgia SLPA standards)
  • Demonstrated experience providing school-based SLPA support to students ages 3-21 under SLP supervision
  • Working knowledge of IEP development, IDEA compliance, special education service delivery, and SLP-supervised treatment delivery
  • Successful completion of background check per Whitfield County School System and Georgia Department of Education requirements
  • Reliable transportation to multiple school sites within Whitfield County
Strongly Preferred Qualifications
  • ASHA SLPA Assistants Certification (C-SLPA) or registration
  • Two or more years of school-based SLPA experience under licensed SLP supervision
  • Bilingual Spanish/English capability - eligible for the bilingual differential, especially valuable given Dalton/Whitfield's English-language-learner demographics
  • Experience with augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) device implementation under SLP direction
  • Documented experience with Medicaid documentation and service-log standards in a Georgia school setting
Compensation
  • Hourly base range: $32.00 - $40.00 per hour for experienced school-based SLPAs (independent contractor / 1099)
  • Bilingual differential (Spanish/English): +$2.00 - $4.00 per hour
  • Combined ceiling for bilingual SLPAs with extensive school-based experience: up to $44.00 per hour
  • Bi-weekly pay frequency per CLFC standard contractor terms
  • Schedule predictability with collaborative-scheduling support and CLFC PMO campus-clustering coordination to minimize cross-county drive time: 8-hour billable workday tied to the Whitfield County school calendar; assignments scoped to align with the academic year and contract option periods
