Job description

Job Summary
We’re seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Industrial Painter / Coatings Applicator to support protective coating and finishing operations on large fabricated steel assemblies. This role focuses on surface preparation, spray application, and protective coatings designed for durability and environmental exposure.

What You’ll Do

  • Prepare steel surfaces using cleaning, grinding, blasting coordination, and masking techniques
  • Apply industrial coatings including zinc primers, acrylic topcoats, and protective finishes
  • Pour marine foam and apply polyurea waterproofing systems (training available)
  • Set up and operate airless spray equipment and coating application tools
  • Mix coatings to proper ratios and maintain required viscosity levels
  • Perform wet film thickness (WFT) checks and coating quality inspections
  • Perform touch-ups, repairs, and final finish work
  • Read shop drawings and follow coating specifications
  • Maintain coating materials, equipment, and work areas
  • Identify coating defects or material issues and report to supervision
  • Follow all safety procedures, PPE requirements, and coating best practices
