Forklift Driver

Location: Joliet, IL 60431

Pay Rate: $19.00 per hour

Shift: Monday - Friday | 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM

Report to: JOSE

Position Summary

We are seeking reliable and safety-conscious Forklift Drivers to join our team at Western Post. This position is responsible for operating sit-down forklifts to move, load, unload, and organize materials throughout the warehouse. The ideal candidate is dependable, detail-oriented, and committed to maintaining productivity, accuracy, and safety in a fast-paced warehouse environment. A manager will review each applicant’s work experience to determine which position is best suited for their skills and experience. Please be prepared to speak about your previous work history during the interview.

Responsibilities
  • Operate sit-down forklifts to move, load, and unload materials within the warehouse.
  • Inspect forklifts daily to ensure proper functioning and report any maintenance needs or safety concerns.
  • Safely stack, organize, and store materials in designated areas.
  • Assist with inventory management by accurately recording material movements and stock levels.
  • Follow all safety protocols and company policies to maintain a safe work environment.
  • Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet operational deadlines.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace through general housekeeping duties.
  • Assist with additional warehouse duties as assigned by supervisors or management.
Requirements
  • Proven experience operating forklifts or similar material-handling equipment required.
  • Knowledge of warehouse safety practices and procedures.
  • Ability to lift, carry, and move heavy items as needed.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours and overtime when necessary.
  • Familiarity with inventory systems or basic record-keeping is a plus.
  • Reliable transportation and consistent attendance required.
