SALARY RANGE: $15 to $23 / hour
Western Grain Marketing specializes in providing comprehensive grain handling, storage, and marketing solutions for customers.

A Grain Handler Technician is responsible for safely and efficiently handling, storing, and moving grain and related products within a grain facility. This role involves operating equipment, maintaining storage systems, and ensuring safety and quality standards compliance. The technician is key in facilitating grain processing, shipping, and receiving activities while maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
Key Responsibilities
Receive, unload, and load grain using conveyors, augers, and elevators.
Operate and maintain grain handling machinery, including dryers and storage systems.
Conduct quality checks on grain for moisture, weight, and other specifications.
Monitor inventory levels and ensure proper storage practices.
Clean and maintain grain bins, pits, and work areas to meet safety and hygiene standards.
Assist with routine maintenance and troubleshooting of equipment.
Comply with all safety regulations, including using personal protective equipment (PPE).
Maintain accurate records of grain shipments, inventory, and operational activities.
Required Qualifications and Skills
High school diploma or equivalent or previous experience in agriculture or a related field.
Must have a valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record.
Basic math and computer skills for record-keeping and inventory management.
Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to operate machinery.
Ability to operate, maintain, and repair agricultural equipment safely and effectively.
Certification in forklift or heavy machinery operation.
The role involves physical labor, including the ability to lift and move heavy objects for loading and unloading.
Ability to follow detailed instructions.
Commitment to following safety guidelines and regulations.
Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Ability to work in various weather conditions, during peak planting and harvesting seasons, and outside of normal hours throughout the year to meet deadlines and demands.
