COMMUNICATIONS ADMINISTRATOR
Executive
The West Virginia Housing Development Fund (the โ€œFundโ€), a quasi-governmental organization providing safe, decent affordable housing across West Virginia, is seeking qualified candidates for the position of a Communications Administrator in our Charleston Office. We are dedicated to increasing the supply of residential housing for individuals and families of low- and moderate-income. We also provide construction and permanent mortgage financing to public and private sponsors of such housing. To date, the Fund has issued more than $4.5 billion in bonds and has financed more than 165,000 housing units since it began operation in 1969. The Funds mission is to ensure that all West Virginians has access to safe, affordable housing, which in turn helps to create stronger communities and a more prosperous West Virginia.
The Fund offers an extensive benefit package which includes:

Job Summary: This employee is responsible for developing and administering a quality public information and communication program to inform lenders, realtors, builders, local governments, developers, local community development organizations and the general public of the West Virginia Housing Development Fundโ€™s (the โ€œFundโ€) programs. This employee will have access to sensitive and confidential data; therefore, confidentiality must be maintained at all times.
Essential Functions:
  • Develops and maintains current and accurate content on Fund website and social media outlets and tracks effectiveness and reach;
  • Prepares and distributes news releases and public service announcements and the Fundโ€™s annual report;
  • Coordinates and monitors compliance with applicable digital accessibility regulations for Fund documents and website; and
  • Assists in development, planning and coordination of consumer and public education programs, workshops, conferences and tradeshows;
  • Assists in coordination and supervision of internal communication efforts, including, but not limited to employee newsletters, intranet posts and updates, training, creative and written work for internal employee-centered committees and events.
Required Education/Experience: Bachelor Degree in Journalism, English, Communications, Public Relations, or Marketing with a minimum of five years' experience in the Public Relations or Integrated Marketing (social media) fields. Highly proficient with Microsoft Office, Adobe, and web development software. Must have excellent grammar and proofreading credentials and knowledge on how to write for specific media.
Preferred Education/Experience: Masters Degree in any of the disciplines listed above with five years Public Relations or Integrated Marketing (social media) experience.
