Job description

Overview of the Position:

The Shipping Clerk will process customer orders in an efficient and accurate manner. Will ensure all shipments are packaged properly to prevent damage. Compares shipping paperwork with ERP system. Maintain integrity of shipped paper work and issues. Ensure compliance with all federal and regulatory shipping and export requirements.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prepares outgoing orders for shipping, using UPS, FedEx, DHL systems as well as interactions with other shipping logistic companies.
    • Occasional HAZMAT shipping may be required after receiving HAZMAT certification.
    • Consolidation shipping may be required.
  • Maintain warehouse housekeeping per 5S methods.
  • Embrace/implement continuous improvement and lean principles in all activities.
  • Regular and reliable attendance.
  • Compare parts/supplies with packing slip to ensure they are correct.

Other Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to learn detailed shipping process regarding location codes, size & weight metrics.
  • Ability to pass pre-hire test for data recognition and math skills.
  • Must incorporate Wencor's Core Values (Respect, Safety, Continuous Improvement and Customer Service) in daily operations.
  • Ability to meet or exceed department quality and performance metrics.
  • Experience with general warehouse equipment forklift, pallet jack, wrap, etc.
  • Certified to ship Hazardous Material or ability to obtain such certification.
  • Ability and knowledge in exporting shipments.
  • Capable of working well independently and within attendance guidelines.
  • Ability to work occasional overtime.

Education / Experience Requirements: High School Diploma or G.E.D. Minimal 1-2 years warehouse/distribution experience in areas of shipping, order filling and material control. AVIATION COMPONENT EXPERIENCE STRONGLY DESIRED.
