Job description

The Engineering Tech/Petro Analyst plays a critical role in supporting Well Management Engineers, operations, and leadership through advanced data management, reporting, and analytics. This position is responsible for driving data governance, developing dashboards, and ensuring data integrity.


  • Assist with data governance initiatives to ensure accuracy, consistency, and reliability of production and operational data across systems.
  • Design, develop, and maintain dashboards, reports, and interactive applications to support engineering, operations, and executive leadership.
  • Build and optimize reporting tools (e.g., Spotfire, Databricks apps) to significantly improve performance, usability, and accessibility of data.
  • Develop automated workflows and web-based tools that integrate directly with source systems to enhance self-service reporting capabilities.
  • Create and maintain data validation and QA/QC processes to improve reporting accuracy and reduce manual correction efforts.
  • Generate exception reports to identify and resolve data integrity issues across multiple platforms.
  • Write and maintain SQL queries for data extraction, transformation, and analysis.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve data issues across enterprise systems to support day-to-day operations.
  • Support system upgrades and enhancements (e.g., WellView, ), including testing, defect identification, and workflow improvements.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams including engineering, IT, operations, and vendors to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Prepare and deliver reports, dashboards, and presentations for management, executives, and company-wide meetings.
  • Provide training, documentation, and user support to improve adoption and effective use of reporting tools and systems.

  • 5+ years of experience supporting engineering, drilling, completions, or production operations, preferably within the oil & gas industry.
  • Proven experience in data governance, reporting, and analytics across multiple operational basins or business units.
  • Strong expertise in building dashboards, writing SQL queries, and managing large datasets.
  • Experience serving as a subject matter expert (SME) for data systems and reporting tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to improve processes, enhance data quality, and optimize workflows.
  • Must meet conditional job offer requirements including background, drug test, MVR, fit for duty and agility.
