Wellstar Cna Program information

What is the Wellstar CNA Program?

The Wellstar CNA Program is a training initiative offered by Wellstar Health System to prepare individuals for a career as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA). This program combines classroom instruction with hands-on clinical experience to equip students with the skills necessary to provide basic patient care in healthcare settings. Upon successful completion, graduates are eligible to take the state CNA certification exam and can pursue employment opportunities within Wellstar or other healthcare organizations. The program is designed for those interested in starting a healthcare career and may offer tuition assistance or employment opportunities upon graduation.

What can I expect from the team dynamics and support while participating in the Wellstar CNA Program?

During the Wellstar CNA Program, you will work closely with experienced nurses, instructors, and fellow CNA students in a supportive, hands-on learning environment. Teamwork is emphasized, with mentors available to guide you through clinical rotations and classroom instruction. Regular feedback and open communication are encouraged to help you develop practical skills and confidence. This collaborative structure helps prepare you for real-world healthcare settings where coordination with multidisciplinary teams is essential.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in the Wellstar CNA Program, and why are they important?

To thrive in the Wellstar CNA Program, you need a strong foundation in basic patient care, knowledge of medical terminology, and a high school diploma or GED. Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and completion of a state-approved Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) training program are typically required. Compassion, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to work well under supervision help candidates excel in patient interactions and team settings.
