Job Title: Surgical Technologist (Surg Tech) Job Summary:

A Surgical Technologist, also known as a Surg Tech or Operating Room Technician, is a key member of the surgical team who assists in preparing for and facilitating surgeries. They ensure that the operating room is sterile, organized, and equipped with the necessary instruments and supplies. Surg Techs play a critical role in patient safety by maintaining aseptic techniques and supporting the surgical team during procedures.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Preoperative Preparation:

    • Set up the operating room with surgical instruments, sterile drapes, and other necessary supplies.
    • Ensure proper functioning of surgical equipment and instruments.
    • Verify and maintain the sterile field to meet safety standards.
    • Prepare patients for surgery by cleaning and disinfecting incision sites and positioning them on the operating table.
  2. Intraoperative Assistance:

    • Pass instruments and supplies to surgeons and other team members during procedures.
    • Anticipate the surgeon's needs to ensure a smooth workflow.
    • Manage specimens for laboratory analysis following proper protocols.
    • Assist with retracting tissue, applying suction, or cutting sutures as directed.
  3. Postoperative Duties:

    • Clean and restock the operating room after procedures.
    • Ensure proper disposal of biohazard materials and sharps.
    • Maintain and sterilize surgical instruments and equipment.
    • Assist in transferring patients to recovery areas.
  4. Collaboration and Communication:
