The Wellness Program assists with the mission fulfillment by empowering SLCC's employees to live healthy, prosperous, and otherwise thriving lives through the implementation of quality, evidence-based health education programs. As a team member of this award-winning holistic employee wellness program, the Employee Wellness Program Associate will deliver personal training and work with other members of a multi-disciplinary team to develop, promote and evaluate group and individual wellbeing programming that aim to enhance the wellbeing of program participants as well as SLCC employees at large.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities & Knowledge Skills & Abilities
Knowledge of behavior change theory.Ability to handle confidential material.Ability to safely adapt personal training based on individual abilities or limitations, injuries, illnesses and needs.CPR and First Aid Training.Familiarity with database and word processing programs.Ability to travel to multiple campus locations based on scheduled meetings and for business needs.Knowledge of common filing systems.Self-motivated and timely.Follow instructions and directions effectively.Strong business English skills, including effective writing, spelling, and vocabulary.Ability to communicate effectively with a broad range of diverse people, ability, culture, and ethnic background, to maintain good working relationships across the College.Ability to work with all groups in a diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic background of community college students, faculty, and staff, including those with disabilities.
Minimum qualifications
Experience delivering health presentations to large and small groups. One (1) year of work experience in health promotion.
State Licensed Personal Training Certification (e.g. NASM or ACSM). One (1) year of work experience in Personal Training.
Some college, such as Associate's Degree or working toward Bachelor's Degree in Nutrition or Dietetics, Exercise and Sport Science, or Behavioral Science and/or Health. Reliable transportation to travel to multiple campuses.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college in Health Promotion and Education, Public Health, or closely related health field preferred. Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES) preferred.
