Wella Professional information

What is a Wella Professional?

A Wella Professional is a haircare and styling expert who uses Wella-branded products and techniques to provide salon services, such as coloring, cutting, and treating hair. Wella Professionals are often certified or trained by the Wella company to ensure they are knowledgeable about the latest trends, technologies, and products in haircare. They work in salons or independently to deliver high-quality results for their clients using Wella’s extensive product line. Many Wella Professionals stay updated through ongoing education and workshops provided by Wella. Their expertise helps clients achieve desired looks while maintaining hair health.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Wella Professional hair stylist?

To excel as a Wella Professional hair stylist, you need formal training in cosmetology, a valid cosmetology license, and a deep understanding of hair cutting, coloring, and styling techniques. Proficiency with Wella’s product lines, color formulation systems, and salon management software is essential. Creativity, strong communication, and the ability to build client relationships are standout soft skills in this role. These qualifications ensure high-quality client service, up-to-date styling expertise, and successful use of Wella products to drive client satisfaction and business growth.

What are some common challenges faced by Wella Professional hair stylists, and how can new team members overcome them?

Wella Professional hair stylists often encounter challenges such as staying updated with the latest trends and mastering new product lines and techniques. New team members might also need to quickly adapt to a fast-paced salon environment and build strong client relationships. Overcoming these challenges involves participating in ongoing training provided by Wella, collaborating with experienced colleagues, and actively seeking feedback to refine skills. Embracing continuous learning and demonstrating excellent communication with clients and team members are key to thriving in this role.

Job description

Job Summary
A Salon Where You Can Build a Career
The Golden Room is not your typical salon. We’re a growing, team-focused salon that values our stylists, invests in education, and creates an environment where talented professionals can do great work without feeling like just another chair on the floor.
We’re looking for an experienced Hair Stylist who is confident behind the chair and ready to grow with us. This is not an entry-level position—we are looking for someone who is already trained and can work independently. Hair is our primary focus, with opportunities to also offer nail and/or lash services if you have experience in those areas. An established clientele is a major plus.

Compensation & Perks
  • 50/50 Commission or Hourly Pay — whichever is higher
  • Keep 100% of Your Tips

  • Retail Commission
  • Ongoing Education & Training
  • Growth Opportunities
  • Employee Discounts on Products & Services
  • We are a Wella Professional, Sebastian & Briogeo salon

Responsibilities
  • Provide professional hair services including cuts, styling, color, highlights, and balayage
  • Conduct consultations and recommend services and products
  • Build strong guest relationships and encourage rebooking
  • Maintain a clean, professional station and follow salon standards
  • Be an active part of a supportive, collaborative team

Qualifications
  • Current Ohio Cosmetology License
  • 3+ years of professional salon experience preferred

  • Experienced stylists only — no recent cosmetology school graduates

  • Strong haircutting, styling, and color skills
  • Established clientele is a major plus
  • Nail and/or lash experience is a plus
  • Professional, dependable, and team-oriented
