POSITIONANNOUNCEMENT
EVENING WeldingTechnology Instructor
The TennesseeCollege of Applied Technology Crump is accepting applications for the positionof Instructor in the Evening Welding Technology program. 
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Postsecondary training from a technical school or manufacturing school in Welding Technology or related field
Minimum three (3) years of successful work experience in welding or related field
Must be able to organize and provide theoretical and practical instructional activities to enable students to become AWS certified
Must possess high school diploma or equivalent.
Must possess the organizational and verbal and written communication skills necessary to be an effective teacher and to interact with high school and adult students
Must show evidence of good character, mature attitude, and stable personality
Must have a sincere desire and interest to teach as well as remain current in the welding profession
Computer skills necessary
GENERAL DUTIES: 
This position isresponsible for providing individualized classroom and lab instruction in allphases of the Evening Welding Technology Program including gas metal arc,tungsten inert gas, shielded metal arc, oxyacetylene fusion, inner shieldwelding, flux core welding, flame cutting, brazing and soldering.  The instructor must monitor, grade, andevaluate individual students' progress, maintain student records in thecollege's student records management software, maintain appropriatedocumentation, and submit timely reports.  The instructor must also maintain good public relations with businessand industry.  This position will alsosupervise and follow-up on students participating in cooperativeeducation.  Other duties include studentrecordkeeping, and student recruitment, placement, follow-up of programgraduates, purchasing and other duties as assigned.  Some travel is required. 
SALARY:  Commensurate with Tennessee College ofApplied Technology salary guidelines.
WORKINGCONDITIONS:
Use of computer
Normal standing, sitting, and walking
Lifting of materials weighing approximately 40 lbs.
Operating a motor vehicle to travel within the college service area and in other areas as needed.
