R+L Carriers is seeking a skilled and dependable Facility Maintenance Technician at our Piedmont, SC Service Center. This role is essential to maintaining the safety, functionality, and appearance of our facilities. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of hands-on experience in electrical, plumbing, welding (steel), and carpentry trades. The candidate must also be proficient in steel welding for structural and equipment repairs. Company service vehicle(cart) and large tools/equipment (ladders, welder, drills, saws, and cutting torches) provided.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs across company facilities, including offices, dock\warehouse, and yard areas

  • Troubleshoot and repair basic electrical systems (e.g., lighting, circuits, outlets)

  • Install, repair, and maintain plumbing systems (e.g., water lines, fixtures, drains)

  • Weld and fabricate steel components and equipment (MIG and Stick welding)

  • Perform general carpentry work, including framing, drywall, flooring, and cabinetry repairs

  • Ensure all work and repairs meet safety and compliance standards

  • Inspect equipment and facilities regularly and respond to maintenance requests

  • Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition

  • Assist in emergency repairs and snow/ice removal when necessary

  • Collaborate with the operations team to support shop and yard functions

Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in electrical, plumbing, welding (steel), and carpentry

  • Strong (Mig/Stick) welding skills with steel, including fabrication and repair

  • Familiarity with hand and power tools and the ability to read blueprints/schematics

  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks with minimal supervision

  • Basic knowledge of safety procedures and building codes

  • Valid driver's license with reliable transportation

  • Ability to bend, lift and stoop without difficulty and work in varying weather conditions
